PARIS IN A GLOW OF LIGHT

The Eiffel Tower in Paris - symbol of the 1889 World Exhibition and the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. What do the Eiffel Tower and Paris have to do with Winter & Company? We have had a branch office in the outskirts of Paris since 1988. From here, our colleagues advise designers and brands in France on a wide variety of projects on a daily basis. So it's time to introduce you to the team and give you a few exclusive tips for Paris in the festive glow of lights - bonne lecture!

CHRISTMAS IN PARIS - EXCLUSIVE TIPS FOR AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE!

Musée des arts Forains // Arc de Triomphe

Musée des arts Forains - a magical place to discover in the run-up to Christmas. It will delight young and old alike - especially those who have retained their childlike spirit.

Arc de triomphe - triumphal arch with a panoramic view: The climb up the 284 steps is quickly forgotten when the magic of the viewing terrace 50 metres above the ground sets in, and the view of the illuminated Champs Elysées and the glittering Eiffel Tower intersect. The glitter of the tower is visible for 5 minutes at the beginning of every hour from nightfall. A tip: hurry up the stairs for a good workout... and rest and take in the sights at the top!

The shop windows of the large department stores ...

Printemps Haussmann // Galerie Lafayette // La Samaritaine

In keeping with our core business - the theme of Printemps Haussmann this year is "Christmas made of paper". The department store has come up with something special and brought thousands of letters and messages to life in a fairytale setting. You might even discover a message from Catherine Deneuve ...

The XXL Christmas tree under the majestic dome of the Galeries Lafayette cannot be missed from the #Glasswalk and is worth a visit in itself - Paris is literally at your feet here. Don't miss the marvellous view from the rooftop bar!

Another great experience is La Samaritaine, which this year takes us into the magical world of Willy Wonka. The film tells the story of the eccentric and extraordinary chocolate maker and has already been made into a film several times, one with Johnny Depp as "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". This year, Thimotée Chalamet - the Franco-American actor - can be seen in the leading role of the musical film. Immerse yourself in a fantasy world full of sweet treats!

Music in the Eiffel Tower - no visit to Paris is complete without a visit to the city's unique landmark. The "Candellight Premium Events" offer a particularly magical experience during the Advent season. Here, classical concerts or opera arias are celebrated in the Salon Gustave Eiffel (first floor of the Eiffel Tower).

An unconventional city tour - always a good opportunity to get a taste of the city and discover something new. Why not relive the old days "à la Française" and drive through the streets in an original 2CV?

Passages and galleries - Paris never ceases to amaze with places that invite you to stroll and discover. The idea of building covered galleries has a long tradition here. This phenomenon experienced a particular boom in the 19th century. During the Second Empire, the construction of department stores with their large interior spaces led to a move away from the narrow passages with their small shops. But in the 20th century, they experienced a renaissance as magical places that inspired writers (André Breton, Paul Morand, Walter Benjamin) and photographers (Atget, Marville, Doisneau). Ask the chauffeur to stop on the 2CV tour and take a little leap back in time away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets. Our personal favourites are the Vivienne and Vero-Dodat galleries.

Bar Joséphine - this bar in the famous Hotel Lutetia offers well-deserved relaxation after an eventful day. When you enter Bar Joséphine, your troubles melt away. Here you can enjoy a quiet drink in the tranquil setting, chat with friends or, depending on the evening, enjoy live jazz music.

Le Chapon farci de Noel - If you don't have time for a trip to Paris this year, you can bring a piece of France home for Christmas with this recipe. The "Chapon farci" is a classic festive dish and a personal favourite of Philippe Schaner, General Manager of Winter & Company France. But beware, if you think the "chapon farci" is turkey, you should discover the subtle difference for yourself. Philippe recommends a Burgundy with it, others also like it with Vin Jaune.

We wish you all a "Bon séjour à Paris et Joyeux Noël"!
