DIGITAL PROTOTYPING SIMPLE & EFFICIENT

Until recently, the magic of computer-generated imagery (CGI) was primarily known as a process used in major motion pictures. However, the technology is rapidly gaining traction in both product and packaging design, offering creative and branding professionals endless opportunities to create photo-realistic design mock-ups cost-effectively and quickly. We are unique in our industry in digitalising and making available our 1,300 cover materials as VR scans. Design professionals and brand specialists worldwide use our service free of charge.

ECOSYSTEM WITH 1,300 DIGITAL COVER MATERIALS

To create the VR scans, we had our full range of 1,300 cover materials painstakingly scanned in photoreal 3D by world-leading specialists Chaos. Chaos are the developer of Vray, the award-winning rendering software used by leading architectural firms, blockbuster studios and brands around the world. The Chaos Scans Library contains highly accurate, ultra-photorealistic digital materials with effective response to lighting conditions. Our 1,300 materials form the largest part of this digital library. Of course, the VR scans are also available for free on our website.

The third partner in the alliance is Foilco, a global supplier of a wide range of foils for the printing industry.
This digital ecosystem offers creative professionals and brand specialists over 300,000 different photo-realistic material and foil combinations for development and prototyping.

8,000 USERS WORLDWIDE AND OVER 100,000 DOWNLOADS

A success so far: already over 8'000 specialists worldwide work with our VR scans every day. 3D modelling and rendering allow brand teams to assess all aspects of a design, from every shadow to every reflection, including complex print effects and ensuring colour balance and precision throughout the packaging, publishing or POS design process. Images can be altered without extensive photo shoots to deliver lifelike results. This gives our customers full control over every aspect of a design concept.

This also pays off economically: our VR scans are available to download for free on our website. All cover materials are accurately imaged at a resolution of 512 dpi in .vrscan format. The data can be used for 3D visualisations with VRay in the programmes 3ds Max, Maya, Rhino, SketchUp, Cinema 4D, Modo or Houdini. Teams at different locations can thus easily and quickly exchange and discuss ideas, discard and revise them before going into physical prototyping. This makes our customers more flexible, more efficient and able to operate in a more effective and timely manner.

Interested parties can find our VR scans as a zip file on each product page for easy download. Start today and use the possibilities of digital prototyping.
